I do like it. It falls into that era of early 2000's where we got a small resurgence of stuff like this and House of Flying Daggers and Hero. These are visually stunning in many scenes. The colors and scenes in House of Flying Daggers and Hero is great
But my real joy is classic Kung Fu and I was really more partial to the Shaw Brothers stuff. Not all of these listed are Shaw Brothers but many are.
Five Deadly Venoms is probably the best classic kung fu movie ever.
36th Chamber of Shaolin
Crippled Avengers
The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter
Kid with the Golden Arm
Snake in the Monkey's Shadow
The list goes on and on and on. Even the more modern stuff, well modern to me like Once Upon a Time in China, Drunken Master 2, Supercop, Iron Monkey, Fist of Legend, Swordsman 2, Tai Chi Master, Ong Bak movies and yeah seriously I could just keep naming and naming these. The first Ip Man is great.
I even have a soft spot for stuff like Kung Fu Hustle. This is a genre I have always loved. Hey I will absolutely even watch some 80's western JCVD (Side note Lionheart is coming out on 4K and doesn't get the attention it deserves along with Bloodsport and Kickboxer) but my real passion is 70's era classic stuff like Shaw Brothers movies.
Westerns are my #1 and I do have a real soft spot and liking for Epics. But damn if Martial Arts/Kung Fu isn't high on my list. Hell I just love movies but yeah definitely a genre I'm partial to.
