It's kind of fascinating how thin the line is between Hatsune Miku existing and having a massive fan base and a Spotify channel playing AI music that has people screaming for its global banning.

The main difference is that the human whose voice was used to create the Vocaloid voice bank was actually fairly compensated for their voice being used that way . AI music just steals voices with no permission or compensation. And that's not getting into how much manual human work goes into tweaking the Vocaloid voices to sound right for the song, while AI songs tend to just roll with what gets generated.
