But I want to ask what's all changed from the original version that isn't story related?
Borrowed it from the library,was surprised they already had a copy

I think they changed some of the real time things. And something with The Sorrow but I can't remember what.

Edit: I think they changed it so you can't fake your death to get out of fighting The Sorrow.

Great game, I hadnt played the original in damn near 20 years but it was still an amazing experience to relive

updated the control to be closer to MGSV like crouch walking but mostly the same as the original even down to area loading and resetting enemy alerts when you crossover to another map. yes you read that right the remake didn't make the game map seamless and connected but kept the same as the original

if you've played MGSV, the gameplay feels more similar to that, with the exception of running and being able to tag enemies.

once you pick up camo and face paint, after you use them, you can access them through a quick menu (up on the directional pad) so you don't need to keep pausing to change.

you can also access your radio through a quick menu (down on the directional pad).

you no longer dive by running and using the ducking button; you dive by pressing a dedicated button.

you hold one of the trigger buttons (L1 on PS5) to stalk since the buttons are no longer pressure sensitive.

What all was removed from the original version?

Hopefully not a lot. That's the problem I have the remakes of Resident Evil 2,3 and 4.

Maybe Konami is different from Capcom when it comes to remakes.

nothing was removed it's pretty much 1.1 remake down to the maps and how it played on ps2 san the controls which got updated and the graphics

If it's moderately close to the original you should have a good time with it. Game is a classic.

I'm personally in the camp that loved the original as a kid but feel little motivation to try the remake. I'd rather just have a legally emulated version of Subsistence.

from what I've seen, nothing has been removed from the main game, with the exception of an exploit to beat one of the bosses (the Fear), but iirc, that was originally a glitch.

besides that, I guess the original had some kind of online portion which Delta doesn't have, but it will be adding its own sometime this month.
