Hearing the dub murdered me but once revived I'm interested to see what happens. I'm hoping Danganronpa 1 characters show up early and they're included as well; that's be crazy good to see new cross series interactions.

"New" Danganronpa is a stretch considering it's a glorified remake of 2, but it will have an alternate full-length killing game story with the same characters and setting, so I'm excited either way.

Dangan 2 was my first dangan game, so see it get a remake AND alt story is great. I was just thinking of doing another playthrough, too

Seeing how it doesn't happen until the literal final moments of the game I figured it'd be worth spoiling just in case. I love Danganronpa and wouldn't want to ruin experiencing the series for anyone.

I always appreciate cautionary spoilers since the fanbase in general plays loose with them. Got a random unwanted future game spoiler from someone just because I was listening to some music from the first game, lol.

I imagine it will only have 1, maybe 2 trials, a short side story.

Either way I'm playing it because Danganronpa is one of my favorite series ever.

Some fans are cooking on why this particular game is being remade in this way, and it would totally make sense considering the twist V3 pulled. Spoilers for that game of course.

Take the title. 2x2 sounds like it could be an equation that leads to 4. The alternate story is an in-universe way to revive Danganronpa and will reveal itself to actually be Danganronpa 4.

Kodaka has confirmed he's involved with the remake, mostly as a supervisor to make sure everything's done correctly. If anything I think Kodaka's involvement makes me even more certain of that theory I just posted.

Another post, people are noticing very small and weird changes to character designs, like Komaeda's shirt having a more angular design, Mahiru not having freckles, Mikan's hair being slightly different...

I think there's definitely something up with this remake, lol.

There's something up with how they mention that it's primarily a new killing game in the Danganronpa series (referencing the alternate story), and then say that the original Danganronpa 2 is also included. I think it being a stealth sequel could actually be correct.

they would probably start out small uncanny valley until it builds up.

remember in the first game a character looking slightly different than in a magazine was a big plot point.
