Seems like it's not nearly as popular as ps4 pro

This. Also, there's not really that much of a jump from the regular PS5 - the jump to "4K" was a huge thing to cross for the PS4 Pro/Xbox One X, and there isn't an equivalent one here.
I'm enjoying mine. The instant my Farming Simulator game targeted 60 fps instead of 30 fps without sacrificing any resolution instantly made it worth it to me. There has been enough benefits in other games too.

I know it isn't viewed as a popular option to most people but I have been a primary console gamer the last 45 years and Playstation has been my primary console since PS1. I really like it.

Think the Expensive thing is the bigger thing. With the PS4 Pro, you could trade in your base PS4, and then maybe spend $150 and you have your Pro. With the PS5 pro. You could do a tradein and still have to drop $500
This is a signature.

Is just this.

The PS5 pro does what its been made to do and that is experiment with PSSR upscaling and improves resolution and framerate options (and it does this way more than the PS4 did for it's then fancy new checkboard 4K with certain PS4 games actually), but its a higher price alongside it not coming with a disc drive by default than what most console gamers is willing to pay for.

Too expensive, lacks a disc drive for physical games requiring another $80 purchase on top of the $750 you just plopped down, lacks basic accessories included with the base PS5, no official plates (not that this matters too much since they're charging $60 for slabs of cheap plastic which is insane), the extra GPU grunt is worthless because every modern game uses upscaling so everything is still blurry, the AI upscaling solution is half baked so multiple games look and even sometimes run worse than base PS5, the CPU is the same Ryzen 2000 series equivalent so CPU bound games get basically no boost in performance, etc.
You felt your sins weighing on your neck.

This actually started reasonable before it spiraled into wut.

The PS5 pro uses the literal exact same plates as the PS5 slim. If that high-priced official slim plates is a turn off then a lot of people make their own like 13 dollar to 20 dollar custom plates on aliexpress.

Don't even know where you got the GPU is worthless every modern game uses upscaling so everything is still blurry thing. (The entire point for coming up with PSSR is for better resolution scaling, and it especially works well for the weaker PS5 performance resolution games out there. EX monster hunter wilds and FF7 rebirth's). It is true that PSSR occasionally comes up with problems (mainly in the unreal engine 5 stuff), but it really is dishonest pretending this is a thing for majority of the games that is releasing.

A whopping 4 games (alan wake 2, silent hill 2 remake, star wars jedi survivor, and now metal gear solid 3 delta. All of which is a hot mess of optimization+forcing ray tracing that is effecting the other platforms these games have released on as well. ) is the amount with issues. 2 of these games already recieved PS5 pro specific patches improving the performance (star wars and alan wake 2), and the silent hill 2 r one is still on the way. Metal gear solid 3 delta is a mess everywhere.

The CPU is the same so CPU bound games get basically no performance boost is also blatantly untrue.

*Dragon's dogma 2, one of the main games constantly stated to be CPU bound and so no noticeable differences would be noticed between base consoles and the PS5 pro.*

PS5 pro is also a victim of a consistent social media misinformation hate campaign since its conception just because of it's price. Its ok to not care about the thing, but at least be honest about what it does.

For how much better and smoother it makes GT7 in PSVR2 look, I'm glad I bought it when I did but I don't think it was something I really needed .

I'd assume because the developers turned on too many extra features on the Pro settings and somehow made it run worse than the base version. Not because the PS5 Pro is somehow less powerful than a base PS5...
