I'm up to the Chimera Ant arc and it's fantastic so far. Yorknew City arc was a masterpiece IMO. Greed Island was good, but not as good

I loved the Chimera ant arc, one of my favorite in all of anime, even though many online do seem to think it "drags on too long".

My only thing is I absolutely hate Gon's motivation for like...everything. His whole shtick is "my father was a fucking piece of shit that abandoned his family, and me, so he could go hunt monsters. Wow, that's fucking awesome, I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE HIM!"

Absolutely the worst fucking MC motivation I've ever seen. As far as I'm concerned it's Killua's story, fuck Gon.

yea, I really liked the anime.

I hope they'll one day continue because I tried reading the manga, and it sometimes felt unreadable.

they got enough now to make a new season but the arc isn't quite finished yet

but it would still be like 50 episodes worth so no matter what it will happen one day

I didn't think it dragged much (I'm used to One Piece), but the unnecessary narration it started doing near the end almost made me hate it. It still was probably my favorite arc though in the long run though.

Thats kind of a disingenuous way to frame his motivation. Its more like he wants to find out what could be out there in the world to take his dads interest away from him. As Gon goes along he realizes his dad was prepping people to challenge him along the way so Ging always had him in his mind. Gings an awkward guy who didnt know how to raise a son so he set up people to help out.

Besides, Gon was bored AF on Whale Island. He wouldve left to do something. Following his dad was a reasonable path to pick to get out in the world.

Yeah, but there hasnt been an update in awhile AFAIK.

To keep people engaged with the franchise they should make a movie based on the Hisoka VS Chrollo fight from the manga.
