I'm a legitimate 5'10" without shoes and whenever I go out to public places, I am the tallest person by at least a few inches 99% of the time. In one of the most diverse cities in the US

I know a lot of people my height or even slightly shorter will claim they are 6' and I'm just like bruh

That's just how it works, the majority of people are shorter than the average man. Half of the population is women, of which 95%+ are shorter than 5'10. Then there's the large subset of men shorter than 5'10.

Really, in a diverse area? I bounce around a lot between NJ and NY, and, while I am usually the tallest guy in the room at 6'3, at least once or twice a week I'll see someone taller than me. Maybe I'm taking your 99% too kinda-literally.

Average height in my state of Iowa is almost 511 and this checks out because Im a legit doctor measured barefoot 62 and as I walk around Im really not much taller than the average person when I grocery shop. Am I usually taller? Yeah by a little bit, but not much.

Side note Im 49 and tons of people my age claim they have shrunk over the years. I know this is a real thing with spine compression or back issues but Im the same as I was at 18 entering the military. No change since I was a teenager.

I have a hard time believing you are the tallest person by a few inches 99% of the time at 510. You are literally below the average height for men in my state.

Im 63 and am usually the tallest within any group of people. Most of my male friends are right around 60. At work, there are a few people considerably shorter, but there are also 3 people who are about the same height as me. And I work in an office of about 30-40 people.

While Im usually the tallest of any group Im hanging out with, I went to a friends house for a game night like 10 years ago, where I only knew the host. I got there, and the only person we were waiting on shared the same first name as me (rather than give my name, Ill just say we were both names Popo). The host said Popo is here, now were just waiting on Tall Popo. I jokingly asked Im not Tall Popo? and was told that I was not. Then Tall Popo showed up. He was 611. I was definitely not Tall Popo.

I do as well.
My daughters are 59 and 510 and no they are not taller than men by inches most of the time.
Maybe the OP lives in area with a lot of Latinos and Asians. They typically have a shorter height than black and white people.
We all live in a Yellow SUV! a Yellow SUV!
Where I work Ive seen adults that are less than 50 in height. I saw a woman that was the same height as her 10 year old daughter. I think it depends too the people around you. People from Central America tend to be on the shorter side.

Oh man, when I moved to Koreatown, the very nature of being public changed. Almost everyone did this... very quick nod now. Quick enough that maybe they think I don't see it, but I was seeing itevery time I went out. For a while I worried about it being something on my face, but no, it's just the height.

Yeah, I'm like dead average but, after moving to NYC, I was amazed that I'm looking over most of the guys heads.

I frequently get comments about my height and its treated as something of a spectacle, despite only being 63. But the average height for men here is just under 55.
I'm 6'4" and almost never see anyone my height nevermind taller.

It's more believable because he mentioned living in a diverse city.

The average US male height is 5'9, but that's because the average US citizen is white. Hispanic and asian average heights are often significantly lower, and those demographics have large presences in diverse cities.

Uh... I'm 5`9 and yea I'm taller than a decent chunk of people. But there are enough dudes taller than me that I don't feel tall.

My height is 183cm, so 6 foot. I feel like I see a lot of other men who are taller than me. I wouldn't say I'm tall, just average height.

The height where you can just pretend to be 6'0 and the only people who could tell the difference are mostly other tall dudes? >_>

Maybe that's why I never cared about height, I'm in NYC and at 5'11 I'm taller than like 80% of the population here.

Always thought the 5'11 meme was so dumb and that every guy add like 2/3 inches to their listed height compared to their actual height

Maybe your area just skews shorter than average? I'm 5'10 in Los Angeles and frequently see guys that are much taller than me. Like 6'5+ easily

Apparently it's a thing women actually care about on dating apps.
As a 5'10" guy I definitely didn't have that feeling when I lived in America. I felt pretty average, if not a little below.

Look, if that 1 inch in height is a dealbreaker to her, then youve dodged a bullet by not wasting your time on her.

Also, get off the apps. Theyre good for people who for a certain profile and terrible for everybody else.
