Think about it. Hes able to connect with other Pokmon in ways humans cant, and he doesnt seem to have a father so its very possible his mom is actually his trainer. Yes, he can say things other than his own name, but so can Meowth. His hat is probably some fancy kind of Pokeball.

It would also explain why he can survive being Charizarded in the fucking face.

Wasn't there an episode where he literally was a pokemon?
Or maybe it was fan art image that looked lke it was from the anime?
I don't know.
Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images.

Ash and his mother are Dittos who escaped from Cinnabar Island after stealing the Tombstoner TM. What does that TM do? It turns Dittos into real people. Since TMs are single-use in the first generation, the mother naturally uses it on her baby Ditto, and with that, they have a solid cover story for living quietly in the region's sleepiest town. They make friends with the locals, especially the Oaks, to stave off suspicions.

Pretty sure he's been hit with pokeballs several times. That debunks the theory. Even if he already had a ball, it would still attempt to catch him before the beam breaks.

Also there's only one of him. We all know Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny are the real pokemon. We've even seen a shiny Joy.

Why the hell would it be called "Tombstoner"?
WHO MODS THE MODERATORS?
He wants to be the very best like no one ever was, because he's a pokemon.

Makes sense.
"I dreamt I was a moron."
I think there was a lore where long ago, humans were also Pokemon, and they seemingly evolved past it, or they still are but are like a top of the food chain, like how our humans are animals and are heavily dominant.

No, the lore was that humans and pokemon having relationships was normal. They were still separate types of beings.

There is a question in the Cinnibar Gym that asks you if Tombstoner is the name of a TM or not. That is the source of the meme.

They actually touch up why Meowth is able to speak. IIRC he gave up some of his moves to be able to speak.

The late Takeshi Shudo, former head writer of the original anime, claims Meowth being able to speak was a decision made for the audience to know what Pokemon are saying since they cant speak.

I read a horror copypasta once about Ash being dead and his mom captured a Ditto and forced the Ditto to look and act like Ash, even following his dream of becoming a Pokmon master.

If anything, Jesse and James are (or at least are too.).

They got launched how high into the sky, how many times, and survived?

Ash should throw a pokeball at THEM.

Yeah, he can never learn Payday (which is why Jesse and James are always broke)
And as for the second part, they did "Island of the Giant Pokemon" (season 1, episode 17) and used subtitles for the Pokemon.

I meant more in the sense that they dont speak like people do.

interestingly enough Shudo wasnt a fan of Pokemon speaking in the island episode. He wasnt a fan of anthropomorphizing Pokemon since he wanted them to maintain an alien viewpoint.

It's a travesty that the remakes changed it to Tombstony.

They don't. While you can point to some regular animals appearing in VERY early material, it's all been retconned. Even old pokedex entries have been updated accordingly when possible. Raichu's now references Copperajah instead of an Indian elephant, for example.

Well clams, scallops, and starfish do move around and can be quite agile even. They just don't have a face.

Which were most likely errors. Shudo mentioned that in the early anime their appearance was a mistake on the animator part and that they dont exist in-universe and this as early as the original anime. A guide book for 3rd parties from The Pokemon Company says the same. Some things took time to take shape, the original games had references to real world countries and locations so any mention was most likely a mistake.

also humans arent Pokemon since what makes a Pokemon a Pokemon is their ability to shrink which humans lack and why pokeballs dont work on them. Think of it like creationists in the real world that insists that humans are a separate special creation, this is actually the case in Pokemon.
Forbid it, Almighty God!
Here I even found the old page in a reference guide for merchandisers. Notice that the word replace is in Italics when referencing the relationship between Pokemon and real animals.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/5/5af8d59e.jpg

Again real world animals do not exist in the Pokemon universe because the Pokemon themselves take on that role. In a similar manner as the term people in fiction. In fiction a person doesnt have to be a human being but can extend to include a lot of different and even magical species even if humans are the only people in real life so far. It can even extend to non-humanoids such as the Hanar from Mass Effect who look like jellyfish, they are conceptualized as being people. Likewise Pokemon does this for the concept of what an animal is, extending the concept beyond creatures from the real world and covering magical creature that can appear object-like and beyond.
Forbid it, Almighty God!

my theory is that pokemon is in the far future, after a genetic engineering war. pokemon replaced most of the animals on the planet.

My pet theory has always been that Ash is like Yellow from the PokeSpe manga. Children born in Viridian Forest sometimes gain some kind of psychic power that enables them a special bond with Pokemon. In the case of Lance, he could redirect his Pokemon's attacks (so like, he could curve his Dragonite's Hyper Beams).

In the case of Yellow, her Pokemon's level synchronize to her emotional state. If she's relaxed, they level down. If she's tense, they level up. Could explain why Ash's Pikachu can lose to a magikarp but draw against a Latios.
She / Her
Others don't get to dictate what's normal and what isn't. It's something we decide for ourselves.
