Which is a walking and delivery simulator basically. I just started chapter 2 and none of it makes sense so far. Way too much jargon. What is the beach? Dooms? Amelie is there but shes not? But also shes on the beach? Uhhhh

is been a while, but the Beach is basically "the other side"; the game's version of the afterlife.

DOOMS is a person's connection to the Beach/those ghost things - the higher your level of Dooms, the more you can detect and even have some level of influence over them.

iirc, Amelie is on the Beach, but she can send a projection of herself to the "real world".

The game explains it pretty well imo. Read the in game emails and notes for more info but you really don't have to.
