He was let back on the board after that. They only perma banned him the second time.

I think Allen said something like "Oops, I don't have time to actually read all of these suspensions!" and tended to default to not perma banning anyone besides a new user account.
I'll be honest I completely checked out of the gamer community entirely at that time and just played shit.
I don't even care who was in the wrong that entire fucking thing was obviously childish rage for the sake of rage. Admittedly only know the surface level stuff and don't care to know more. Shit was shameful.

She was a straight up grifter, disliking her then didn't lead to Trump's America. While some of the sexist losers that is ruining the country now definitely were some of her detractors, she deserved to have detractors based on her content and that hasn't changed now in 2025.So am I just naive in thinking this was the start to all this bullshit? I dont think I am.

No it didn't start here. While Steve Bannon capitalized on an opportunity to create a GG Alt-Right pipeline (and GG came later than Anita's TVWIVG) misogyny is as old as civilization itself. But if you're specifically looking for organized misogynistic communities that would be things like pick up artists, puahate (the og incel community before incels had a name, frequented by people like Elliot Rodger), New Atheism, MRAs, and MGTOWs.I see your point, and yes, stuff like this has always existed. It has just snowballed way too far at this point in my eyes.
GG and Anita's harassment campaigns seem like bigger deals to you because they probably impacted you more specifically, but the ball had already been rolling long before then.
After I watched her videos, I had to admit I agreed with her. Were the things she complained about really not as prevalent as she made them out to be?

Tbh isnt taking gameplay footage fair use? Those streamers are playing someone elses product to make a video anyway. It's an ethical issue not a legal one. Legally the copyright is owned by the game publisher. Ethically it's a dick move to copy someone's video without asking for permission first.

I can't remember how she handled it but I recall thinking she wasn't used to how we thought about plagiarism in the YouTube gaming world, so I was willing to go easy on her and just wanted something small like "my bad, I didn't consider that, I'll make sure to give credit going forward".From what i remember she kinda tried to ignore it at first and when it got a bit to loud for her she kinda tried to play it off as "they are getting exposure so its alright"
Like I said, I don't recall how she ended up responding. I vaguely remember her not acknowledging it at all, but that could be wrong.
