An absolutely s*** sequel for Trigger, but decent enough as a standalone if you ignore everything about Trigger completely.

Granted, I haven't actually played Cross so I wouldn't know.

If you haven't already you should check out the sound track. I consider Cross to have some of the best music in gaming.
