Bro, I cant even get mad, that shit was super fraudulent. But man, I watch the hell out of YouTube on my phone and tablet, I dunno if I can go back to ads.
Couldn't you just log in with a VPN set for that country?but then he'll stop giving youtube money while pretending like he's getting away with something
Its not just ads, I also have a blue collar job that involves doing monotonous shit thats juuust engaging enough to where I cant have my phone out watching a video, but braindead enough to where I can just vibe out with a video essay. Locking your phone and still having the video going in the background is a major thing I used Premium for. Its bullshit that its locked to Premium for something that simple, but also not having to worry about taking my phone out my pocket to skip them ads too is also a luxury I dunno if I can give up.Yeah, there are far easier ways to do that, at least on Android. Thats what ReVanced is for. On iOS its more of a pain as I think you have to use iTunes to install AltStore, then use AltStore to install some YouTube Premium alternative. This should get better once the EU forces Apple to properly allow sideloading.

I tried to use VPN to stream stuff. It was slow af. Is there a way to make it so that its not so slow? I was trying to watch kdramas on netflix from South Korea because they got the shit I can't find here lolLargely depends on the VPN. PIA is fast for instance.

PIA or NordVPN (and I'm sure others) are fast enough to stream video.

I use Nord. I'm going to try again. I just remember trying on Netflix and it wouldn't load anything.
Netflix has software to fuck with people on VPNs. If you have issues on Nord or PIA you best try to choose a different server and try again. Netflix is always looking for and killing access to VPNs. YouTube on the other hand does not care currently.

Only way to do that ad-free is with Premium unfortunately. The only way you know. You can block them trivially with stuff like a VPN.
The only way you know. You can block them trivially with stuff like a VPN.I'd love to be proven wrong, but every fix I've tried still has ads that show up when casting even if they're blocked on the phone.

If the web traffic is running through the VPN then blocking the ad server's IP's would, by default, block it.Google's DNS for Google TV is hardcoded into the Chromecast so regardless of what's getting blocked on your phone, ads show up when casting. I just did another search and the only way to tackle this appears to be tinkering with one's router.
Though it would still leave iframes and the like.

Put your router behind it if that would work, you aren't required to have only your phone behind a VPN. Proxy servers were how people blocked ads back in the early 90's and they would still work now.
