I was 13 at the time and had just moved to a new, very small school in podunk Mississippi. Only friend I had was my Bassett hound, who was killed three weeks later by two free roaming pit bulls that belonged to one of the rich kids family who also played golf with the local police force.

Will never forget that year or the people involved. Karma will have its way with them.
He's all alone through the day and night.

It was a Tuesday. I was at the same job Im currently at but I was working 1st shift then and had Wednesday and Thursdays off so I was happy it was my Friday. I had a weekend ahead of playing video games and relaxing.

Also it was 10 days before I picked up my Alaskan Malamute puppy Achilles. So I was looking forward to that.

I work at a major state college working at the power plant. Been there since June 28th 1999. Good job, solid pay, AMAZING benefits. I could easily get a good chunk of money more going to a city utility but our benefits are so good where Im at.

Free insurance, they contribute 200% what I put in retirement, lots of time off with 6 weeks vacation a year, 18 sick days a year, tons of other great benefits.

I was at the neighborhoods community pool enjoying summer vacation (my district always got out of school in the third week of May growing up, but we also started back the first week of August).

It was hot, sunny, and humid. There I was, soaking up the suns rays and enjoying the pool with childhood friends, when out of nowhere, it seemed to appear, jumped over the 10 foot fence surrounding the pool, then ran at full speed and cannon balled so hard that all the water flew out of the pool leaving us standing in a large concrete hole in the ground. We couldnt believe it. We gasped and ran for our lives. It was him: Shia LaBeouf.
