Really interesting episode, but then absolutely no payoff at the end. No explanation of what made everybody frightened and hateful of the woman/Ruby or how/why she was constantly stalking herself through her entire life or why the Doctor disappeared or literally anything.

It just happened and then undid itself completely arbitrarily. I'm pretty let down tbh
Yeah, I didn't get it.

But that thing was a genuinely terrifying "monster," if you want to call it that. I've had nightmares like that, with a person always following you in a similar way. Really spooky.

Felt kind of like a pale imitation of some of the long term time stuff theyve done in the past

the ending doesnt make any logical sense even within the world of the show imo

It did feel like a great episode as it was happening, but the payoff just wasnt there

The entire thing was just the fairy ring protecting itself. It feels underwhelming because it was underwhelming. Was quite the ride, though.
I apologize for nothing!

I haven't caught up on Doctor Who. Is the new guy good? I've only seen him as Eric in Sex Education.

He's absolutely fantastic. He's not in this episode, though.

If it doesn't tie into the overarching story, and they don't touch back on it to answer some questions, then I'd hate it.

I will say that the episode kept me intrigued even though the Doctor was barely in it, and I am hoping it ties in to everything going on with Ruby and the Toymaker's Legion and Susan Twist. If they pull it off, it might be the best episode.

I just don't know how to feel about the episode right now. So far, the performances this season has been great though.

Ruby finally noticed Susan Twist !

I was trying to think - is this just the second time she's seen her face?

Ruby wasn't with the Doctor when they went to Newton's house , she was right at the back of the stage when Twist heckled the band , neither her nor The Doctor saw the screen in Space Babies , both her and The Doctor spoke to the tea lady which leaves The Ambulance - I can't remember whether Ruby saw its face in Boom?

We also don't know if she'll notice in this timeline. She might not stop to talk with the hiker at all. Hell, since she leaves immediately, and with The Doctor, she might not even cross paths with the hiker at all.

Very sneaky.

If Ruby recognising her has been undone (which as you say, it probably has), then it means that my theory still has a chance - I reckon that The Doctor will sus that there's something off about her when he's talking with whatever character she is in the finale, and she uses the word gravity instead of mavity .

It has to be intentionally vague, at least I hope. I really enjoyed the episode, so if it doesn't tie into the overarching story of the season, that will be disappointing.

The fact that it never snowed again?? Ruby must play some fantastic role in the grand scheme of space and time, she's too mysterious to not be incredibly important, in some way.
