It was peak from 1999 to .... 2001, then very quickly died because of the shitty expansions that would make even the worst WoW expansions look good, among other things like the Kerafyrm raid blunder. People were so crazy about it it got the "EverCrack" nickname, but it didn't last long at all
WoW is still on top after 20 years somehow
