In the wake of the studios closure, all of Redfalls major content plans have naturally been scrapped. This means that Redfall will receive no further content or non-critical updates after Update 4, and its planned roadmap will not go ahead. The game will remain online, however, and is still available for purchase on Xbox and PC or download via Game Pass.
For those that have already spent money on the games Bite Back Edition or various upgrades to get the Hero Pass, publisher Bethesda is offering a credit to the value of the added content. The process is seemingly still being finalised but anyone wanting to claim that can find all of the details as they arrive here*.
Battleborn is just a drink coaster these days, but didn't the Evolve servers turn back on a year ago? IIRC the developer or publisher was like, "Well, we don't know what exactly happened, but enjoy the game, we guess?"
like, yeah, sure, bots are hard and all that, but like if I want to just drop in on like...I dunno, Evolve or Battleborn or something, I should be able to futz around for like an hour by myself and go "yeah that was fun" as opposed to "oops nobody else plays this guess you're SOL"
I think all live-service multiplayer games should do this at some pointIt should be the sort of thing that is planned for from the beginning, basically a switch they can flip when the time comes. It's ridiculous that games just cease to exist when the server shuts down.

What does Redfall even play like? It's like if you pulled all the talent out of a Borderlands game and stuck what was left into an Ubisoft open world.
