A new Remake of the remake, and darker? I kind of disagree with the idea for the first, and wonder how the latter can be possible.

All of the REmakes have been good (Even RE3 was good as a game, just not a remake of 3) so I'll play it. I'd rather see Code Veronica get remade first though.

I could see a good case for real-time raytracing/pathtracing providing the dramatic lighting that the original remake provided but with real-time rendered environments and more dynamic cameras this time.

The only reason I'm not immediately writing this off is because the other REmakes have been worthwhile, at the least.

I'm a bit disappointed. A remake of a remake? They should have continued with RE5/CV. REmake was already extremely well done. The other titles stand to benefit much more.

A different third-person camera will be utilized, which will also reflect the games slower pace. And lastly, there will be no pre-rendered backgrounds.

As long as CV gets a remake down the line...

I just don't know if a 1 remake is going to be good as REmake. REmake was pretty much perfect. I guess this new remake is for people that prefer the over-the-shoulder camera and find tank controls and fixed cameras dated, which I think is lame. Tank controls and fixed cameras is an artistic and cinematic experience that you cannot have with an over-the-shoulder camera.

The only logical way to do another remake when it already got remade is to basically make it an entire new game, so I'm interested in this approach.

Just hope they do CV and 0 remakes at some point.

REMake 2002 essentially perfected the fixed camera angle, classic survival horror style of the series. It's pointless to try and outdo that game using the same style, but there's still tons of potential for re-imagining the first game using the latest remakes' visuals and style. The original game has arguably the most iconic location and character roster in the series, and it deserves to be revisited.

So yeah, RE-REMake has me way more pumped than a new version of RE5 or CV would.

They can easily remake 1 again in the style of 2 - 4 Remake. And it won't negate the original. I'm stoked if they do this cause they can't do 5 without it
