I didnt know they still existed tbh
I dont think anything would be worse than working in a slaughterhouse.
But I doubt ppl regularly go door to door now, trying to sell a set of steak knives orva vacuum cleaner. That's what the internet is for.
I have a no solicitors sign up and still get them from time to time.
my neighbor across the street will open the door and scream FAAAAAAAWKK YOOOOUUUUUUU and slam the door in their face lmao.
that's part of why i never bothered with the sign. the other reason is that i like to support the kids who are selling cookies for their baseball team or whatever. He does have a no soliciting sign but he's a major dbag.
eh, that's going a bit too far, IMO. i don't like them either, but they're just trying to do their job like most of us. no need to be rude. unless they ignore your "no soliciting" sign, then they deserve it.
That's been one of the annoyances of working from home. The solar scammers tend to show up at the door when I'm in the middle of working on something. You dont have to answer the door lol
You dont have to answer the door lol
Considering it's possible that other people might come to the door who aren't trying to sell something, it's kind of necessary to get up to check the door at which point they've seen me. I open the door and tell them I'm working and not interested and that's the end of it. I don't let them go through the spiel or anything, I've just learned to recognize when they are solar salespeople from what they're carrying.
I've never wanted to do door to door sales. There are way too many instances of people getting harassed and/or shot/shot at just for knocking on people's doors for various reasons.
Having a smart doorbell helps with this. You can just talk to them through the doorbell itself from anywhere as long as you have a data connection.
I've never really felt the need for one. Even ignoring the potential privacy concerns, my home office is in the room next to the front door and I'm always home except for like one day per month. There's never really been any porch pirates issues in the area plus even with the blackout shades in my room, I can usually hear a delivery truck pull up outside and can get packages right away.

are you the homeowner?
no Im the robbing the place
are you the homeowner?Honestly tho there's a lot of situations where the person who answers the door may be renting / the son or daughter / elderly parents / someone who's mooching off the homeowner etc. They need to ask that because they're the only ones who can make decisions.
