Racists are losing it over the new Assassin's Creed black protagonist

Current Events

Yasuke, is a real historical figure, but he was never a samurai, he was a sword-bearer for Nobunaga.

Yasuke ( or ) was a man of African origin who served as a servant and retainer to the Japanese daimy Oda Nobunaga in 15811582, during the Sengoku period.[3] He was employed as a kosh (, page or sword-bearer) for a period of 15 months until Nobunaga's death in the Honn-ji Incident.[4][5]

It is important to note that despite popular myth and modern depictions there are no historical writings nor evidence that Yasuke was ever granted the rank or title of samurai, he was never given a fief nor referred to as one in any writings. Most of our knowledge of his life comes from these messages written by missionaries and locals.

Like other's have mentioned it is a perfect blank slate character to use for the series, as AC stopped being even somewhat historically accurate many games ago.
