Her going to jail time and time again to be bailed out by her rich family means nothing.Although I doubt I understand the deep specifics on these subjects, the dramatics and grandstanding are to drive the point to the average person who typically both will not know anything about the subject while also not caring until it starts to directly effect them. It's basically a necessary evil for these things.
