Gonna watch Brightburn

Been wanting to see it for years. The only things I remember about it from any previews I saw was that basically a kid is like an evil version of Superman. That was my takeaway from it and I haven't read anything up on it so I'll see how it goes. Won't be checking back on this topic until after I've finished the movie, but if you've seen it, I'd like to know what you thought about it.

I remember when you and I watched raggedy Ann together.

Superhero horror is an underrated genre

The protagonist isn't a superhero.
It is impossible to live in the past, difficult to live in the present, and a waste to live in the future.

I really dislike any type of horror movies but caught this on cable and watched because I like Elizabeth Banks and the superhero angle.

I thought it was just ok. But again I dont really like these type of movies. Id never rewatch it but for just catching it on cable and not knowing anything about it, it was alright to watch once.

I would love a sequel. But I'm not sure it will ever happen
I highly advise you not to watch that.

I enjoyed it! I want to know more about where the child came from and the voices he was hearing. Pretty gnarly kills, even though there weren't that many. I liked that Brandon didn't suddenly change his mind at the end from his mother's speech. When he said he was superior early on in the movie and said it with such boldness was quite disturbing. I liked his costume as well. Simple but unsettling. The kid has no remorse.

There was a more specific reason why that was said to you in your topic, and you weren't happy about it. So your response is to just start shit in someone else's topic for no reason at all? Not a good look.

Why tf not.

Great movie.
Way too long for the payoff.

Solid movie.
They were talking about wanting to do a sequel, but that was years ago.

Edit: However, Gunn shared that the rights are all fucked up (I only own half), so its unlikely that it will ever happen.

lol, I was doing my own research before you made the edit, but yeah, sequel seems like it won't be happening, unfortunately.

It has been a while since I watched and I don't remember the voices. But my theory on where he came is a planet kinda like the home world for Saiyans in DBZ. They probably send young members of their species to planets to conquer them

Maybe the voices are a repeating broadcast message telling him his mission
I endorse both Brightburn and Saltburn.

I watched it a while back. I remember it was good but there was some plot induced stupidity on the part of either the kid or the parents, or both. Or something that didn't make sense or was stupid. Been too long.

Fun fact the Brightburn kid played kid Scott Lang in Avengers Endgame during the time travel tests.
