I think he will with all the negativity he's brought on him and how poorly he's handled the changes and interacting with the community. Fandom is a business at the end of the day and I at least think they'll want someone to represent the site in a positive light who can handle the pressure when it comes. Dtoast can't.
Why should he care what some random lines of text with made up usernames think? They might care more if there's an actual human voice or face they can hear or see. I guess in that way the obsession of the Tails krew is a benefit for them since they're so obsessed with the site they're actually willing to contact the company with their real life info.
