Take me down from the ridge where the summer ends
And watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame
Never. I have been gaming regularly since 1980 and have honestly never done this.

Not really except for Sea of Stars mostly because I found a little boring.
Aut viam inveniam aut faciam.
Will not change sig until the Tsar is put back in the Russian throne (July 08, 2010)
I'm good about not doing this, but then I end up leaving these RPGs unfinished which means I never start the next one.

Phantasy Star 3 requires mapping but I'm close to finished. I just wanna chill out tho, so thinking of playing ff5.

Unfortunately. I was pretty much done with Tales of Arise when I decided to focus all my attention on Eiyuden Chronicle.

Well that's further than I get on most Tales games before I move on.
"Intelligence has no place in Politics" Londo, (Babylon Five)
Best new show of 2023, One Piece live action.
I very much try to avoid doing that.

That said, I got pretty late into Tales of Vesperia before I admitted to myself I just didn't give much of a fuck about the game anymore and I didn't really care about how it was going to end. I still have no idea how the game and Yuri ever got gassed up so much.
As the morning sun rises, my lingering memories fade. I no longer see your silhouette. It's too far gone into the haze.
I played RPGs at the same time all the time. I played FFVII and FFVI throughout most of 1999.

Just don't play JRPGs
You haven't set a signature for the message boards yet
I've got a bad habit of starting games and never finishing them, but JRPGs specifically;

  • DQ11 - Technically beat it, but once the post-game story started, I got burnt out. Never beat the true "final boss", but I at least made it far enough to get the "Master of the Skies" trophy. I've considered going back to finish it, but I gave away the disc and the only version available now is for the definitive edition, which doesn't carry over saves.
  • Final Fantasy XV - I made it to chapter 3, but after doing some event quest a couple times, I became so over-leveled, that the difficulty became trivialized. I'd like to return to it, but the idea of curbstomping everything doesn't excite me.
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon - Made it to the point-of-no-return final dungeon, but stopped right outside of the entrance. For over a year now, I've been telling myself that I'd get around to finishing it, but haven't mustered the energy to do so. I blame the knowledge of an optional post-game dungeon that requires a dozen+ hours of grinding to complete .
  • Sea of Stars - The most recent game put on indefinite hiatus. Enjoyed my time with it at first, but the combat started to become incredibly repetitive, so I put it on hold around the 1/3rd way mark (the part with the ghost pirates ). It's part of PS+ right now, so I'd like to finish it before my membership expires in 2 months, but I also want to try out some other games first (like Ys 9)

i can only keep up with one RPG at a time.

unless if im playing a turn based JRPG and an action shooting RPG at the same time. like im doing rn with Persona 3 Reload and Fallout 4... >_>
i play multiple everything all the time and have numerous if not endless save points of everything at different points that i randomly go back and play

so, yes, by nature

Die-hard Oakland A's fan --- Keep the A's in Oakland!
okay i did it. i beat phantasy star 3. final character was Crys.

last dungeon was tough. i was only 1-2 rounds from wiping in the end, the best way to beat an RPG.

on to the next, ff5 is on the docket

Depends how similar the gameplay is. Theres a big difference between a standard JRPG, SRPG, ARPG, etc. even if its a standard JRPG theres a difference between one thats narrative focused like Trails, or gameplay focused
I usually juggle 2-4 games at a time, I try to keep the genres different so I can pick one based on my mood
