Did your parents push you to be outgoing and join activities growing up?

My mom made me do cub scouts and swimming but I quit swimming after two years because I didn't like it. She also tried to surprise me by just putting me in the van one night and taking me to join a basketball team. I told her to take me right home. I still don't know why she thought I wanted to play basketball. Got into sports on my own in middle school.
