Did your parents push you to be outgoing and join activities growing up?

I was just thinking about things I did as a kid. All the after school and extracurricular stuff was because my best friend's mom pushed him and he just brought me along so he wouldn't have to do it by himself.

My mom seemed to be jealous of her because she was like a hardcore PTA stay-at-home supermom and had all these connections for her kid.
