Yes, as I use it to communicate with family abroad and some international group chats as well.

Wait, there are people who use WhatsApp "mostly for work"? Is this a special enterprise version of WhatsApp? Because if not, your company should definitely be disallowing it. If they get sued, there's a good chance you will have to turn over all your personal communications during the discovery phase, not to mention the records retention issues. Work related communication on personal channels should basically be restricted to "please check your work email" type messages.

Army/military uses it pretty widespread.

Some units opt for Signal, especially since Meta/Facebook bought WhatsApp and is being increasingly trash as a company.
