At least on mobile, the option seems to have vanished for me. Pretty obnoxious.

I'm all but convinced companies only update websites to screw with users, and shut down any exploits users might have found to make their viewing experience more comfortable. Like it used to be you could watch youtube videos that required a sign-in by simply adding a couple of slashes in the url. Now youtube has removed that convenient shortcut to force you to sign in.

I just hope they don't get rid of the method we use to turns shorts videos back to regular youtube videos, although it's bound to happen.

It's still there, but you need to go to your own profile and tap general settings. The auto-play option is in there. I think you did use to be able to change it in the settings on the video, but not anymore.

I don't think it's possible to get rid of auto-play completely because a lot of countries have laws against it for minors. I'm pretty sure it's still turned off by default for accounts owned by people under 18.

I'm logged out on mobile so no account settings for that. I still have the ability to turn off auto-play on desktop.

Nope. I just see the Settings gear (Which USED to be where I could disable the 'feature'), and the cc icon.

I'm now seeing this symbol again. I'm confident it was removed a few days ago, I'm not sure what's going on right now.
