The ones they keep pretending that made anime "main stream" like Demon Slayer and My Hero Macadamia. Also Spy X Family kinda and Jujutsu Kaisen.

I think it's weird to say generations have an anime per se because Gen Z is, like, 1996-2012. The earliest ones could have watched Death Note when it was coming out but the younger halfish wouldn't have even been alive for it.

If I had to pick one though, I'd probably say Attack on Titan.
Not changing this part until Saki Amamiya (or Isa Jo) gets into Smash as a playable character
Now watching: Urusei Yatsura 2022 S2, Nichijou

are you talking like first anime that most of gen z watched, or the biggest modern anime?

Because im 23 and the first anime i ever watched was dragon ball Z when Kai was airing on nickelodeon. Id say a lot of people around my age probably also grew up on Naruto and dragonball because they continued to air it on american tv for a long time

Gen Y: DBZ, Bleach, One Piece, Naruto, FMA, Outlaw Star, Trigun, Wing
Gen Z: MHA, Demon Slayer, AoT, Tokyo Ghoul, Noragami, OPM, SAO
Gen A: JJK, Boruto......

No hard lines, but generally speaking, this is the way I see it. Definitely shows that bridge Gens like AoT, Naruto, SAO, One Piece, and Demon Slayer.
