The bubbles being constructions and/or lines was properly foreshadowed but it's not ultimately in service of anything interesting. Actually one of the few parts of Jojolion that is reasonably set up and payed off at least. The spin part is almost incidental, it's not like Josuke really comprehends that force in the world or tries to actively achieve it, it is just a property of the bubbles, and their critical property emerges due to thinness of the lines

I was under the impression spongebob's explosion of popularity had a reputation of annoying people, sort of like how mcdonalds or starbucks gets ragged on for being all over the place

But part 4 is the best part OP. Dialing back the stakes to tell a more personal story did wonders for the story.

I otherwise mostly agree. Part 8 was really bad, had a few good parts but was mostly sloppy and meandering. 5 and 6 aren't great. 7 is probably Araki at the peak of his ability to write characters and story. I've only read like two chapters of part 9 but it seemed ok.

i just cant stand part 4

i love crazy diamond and okuyasu

but i hate morioh. i hate koichi. i hate kira. i hate older joseph. i hate every arc except tonio, rohan, and highway star

and i cant hardly remember ppls names

part 4 is almost as forgettable as part 6 to me but at least...part 6 ends how it does....ugh .

great thing about Jojo is how none of the characters actually have any strong abilities. Characters are just finding really creative ways to use their power to get an upper hand.

rewatched the first two episodes last night

i dont understand how people can say jonathan is bland or boring. just because someone is one note doesn't mean theyre boring, especially when they fucking crush that note

jojo was a bit of a spoiled kid with a big heart and dreams of being a true gentleman. dio was scheming evil from the start. his taking apart of jojo's life is fucking maddening to watch, let alone to live thru. poor jojo. he keeps trying to extend the benefit of the doubt, he keeps trying to maintain his own sanity

when dio steals that kiss from erina and she cleans out her mouth with puddle water. damn that goes so hard

and when jojo stands UP for himself god i got so sweaty and hyped

and then seeing the man he turns into. he really wanted to like dio, he really felt bad about still not trusting him deep down. that shit sucks. have you ever wanted to love someone, but you knew they were pulling the wool over your eyes, and they didnt know you knew? its heartbreaking

he plays him like a fiddle. "swear on the honor of your father"

when dio punches him and he doesnt move. one. inch. "youre exactly what i thought you were" and just fuckin tosses him off the balcony like its the wwe

GOD i fucking LOVE jojo

its perfection in anime form

the fact that the constable arrested dios father and joestar let him go

the fact that joestar blamed himself for dio

the fact that jonathan still couldnt hate dio, he stopped him purely to rid the world of evil

jonathans resoove is otherworldly. he lost everything in a moment. he resolved to die with dio. he BEAT DIO pre-ripple

"i crushed his bones to dust, he's doused in flames, HOW is he still holding on??!"

ok i have no fucking clue why people think the parts between the dio fights are boring

i am fucking STREAMING hype tears start to finish every time

i live for jonathan's super attacks. every time he breathes in and takes note of his blood

i know im about to go fuckin nuts. and his hamon cleansing the evil out of bruford and restoring bruford's hero soul. its so fucking good. i fucking love jonathan dude

and that roundabout ramping up, fuck man. nothing comes close to that. it's a completely unique feeling. only this show hits it. you know its about to end. but youre so ramped up. but it's here, it's over. you have to wait til next week (i last watched this as it aired)

fuck man. im so fucking glad im not one of those people who cant enjoy the old stuff if they dont like the new stuff. im still crying

Jonathan's a walking archetype. If you can't see that, I guess good for you?
I like Part 1, but it's not exactly deep. Best part of it, IMO, is just how much of an unrepentant asshole Dio is. Kicks your dog and smooches your girl - just because he hates you for literally no reason other than to be a hater.
Hamon is a really fun fighting style and Zeppeli just chews up the scenery.

thats not mutually exclusive with being a great character. it doesnt need to be deep

dio is a great villain but he would be NOTHING without a great hero opposite him. that goes even more for jonathan than it does for jotaro

pure good versus pure evil. jonathan loves to be good. dio loves to be evil. they both find resolve in their paths.

jonathan is a lot like superman. he gets a bad rap for being a boring boy scout. well some characters can get away with that. world needs more boy scouts. and when you get a good one, it inspires you in real life too

I've yet to read the manga, but its telling when Part 1 is arguably the worst anime part. I won't say its gotten better, as it hasn't but there aren't any parts I actively dislike. I will say that Joseph in Part 2 is probably my favourite character, as he just doesn't give a damn with how he tries to kill enemies. It makes me sad that he stopped being like that in part 3 and his eventual age made it worse in part 4.

As for the worst main character it has to be Jonathan. He wasn't so bad until he still tried to consider Dio a brother despite Dio being pure evil and doing some really dark stuff.

i dont see how anyone can be worse than giorno. giorno barely qualifies as a character. maybe he's more flavorful in the show, but kid's boring as fucking sand

jonathan has heart. he has indomitable will. i could watch him fight dio in the joestar mansion endlessly on repeat until i die and never get bored

he's better than us. that's why he can still see what he does in dio. its not like he doesnt know dio is pure evil. he just wishes things could have been different. and he's a very kind man

like just hearing the dude put his all into his screams of righteous determination

Steel Ball Run can be animated. people that say it can't are talking from the perspective of an independent animator. It won't be moving .pngs

finished part 1 yesterday

i cried so hard once again. jonathan is too good. he deserved so much better

if you dont get hype from him lighting his sword and then his fuckin FISTS on fire, idk what to tell u

i felt that victory so hard, even knowing what was coming. i miss him a lot

and yea i still dont think jonathan or phantom blood are boring. i will admit the hamon monks are lame and it drags a bit after tarkus and before Dio, but im never not entertained

im gonna miss the intro too, however

bloody stream is so good

it doesnt act like a hype focuser like the first intro, but its so good. more fun but also with a twinge of somber

i love joseph. i love how they set you up to think he's like george, when he says that he gave his wallet to smokey like how george joestar said he gave his ring to dario brando

then he slams that fat fuck pig in the face

im 4 eps in. the whole santana fight is more or less peak jojo. it never quite gets like this again. the horror is so good. parts 1 and 2 are so good. i fucking love the setup of "shonen protagonist dumped in horror movie scenario" its so unique and fun

I'm starting to come around on Stardust Crusaders, Kakyoin and Polnareff have amazing chemistry with each other, and I'm super happy they let Kakyoin have some huge Ws against some of the stand users

Still not feeling Jotaro that much, it doesn't feel like he's formed bonds as deep as what Joseph and Caesar had. For reference on how far I am, they just beat Judgement and revealed Avdol is still alive, which was admittedly pretty fuckin hype
