B8 has always been a little wary with letting strangers in, haven't we? The motivation for that may have been hostility in the past, but as we aged its probably more an aversion to change than anything else. Which isn't to say we can't welcome new blood in (We happily did every contest!), but this sudden rule change does NOT have anyone in a good mood.
Eventually people will open their shells. We always do.
But yeah back on topic, Trump is 100% going to fire (and possibly arrest) anyone who hasn't completely bent the knee to him. He did promise he'd be a dictator.
