I have a couple dozen species of isopod in my collection, but my rubber duckies are still one of my favorites.

They aren't actually bugs. They are crustaceans. More related to shrimp than beetles.

They also taste like seafood.

There are a huge variety of them in the pet trade too. Some even selling at over $100 per bug. Usually in groups of 5 or more.

Its an especially stupid thing to say about isopods. They are a pretty important part of the nitrogen cycle of soil and the decay of wood and other dead plant matter. Its like saying all bees should die, despite being important pollinators. Of course its all trolling so its not like logic matters.

"Bugs" is a very loose and unscientific term. Yes, they are crustaceans, like lobsters/crabs/shrimp/copepods/barnacles. (aaand now someone is going to make a crabs joke, aren't they?)

isopods are cute, even the deep sea giant ones.

i used to have terrariums of the rubber ducky and panda king isopods. had to give them away when i moved.
