Last week there was an accident on the interstate that backed up traffic for close to 4 miles. Yesterday there was one closer to home so I exited early and took surface streets the rest of the way home.
I'm the eyehole man. I'm the only one that's allowed to have eyeholes! Get up on outta here with my eyeholes!
It was definitely true back when I drove to work.
No but quite often there is a car pulled over with hazards going
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process
Haven't seen one in years. Hope it stays that way.
Nothing to report here
Not recently, but when I lived closer to the metroplex it was unavoidable. Namely I-635...

The few weeks ago, there was a car on the side of the interstate at 4:45 in the morning without its hazards on and there was a person between the SUV and the traffic lanes. I didnt see him till the last moment and has to swerve into the next lane to avoid hitting him.

Going to go with no. 4 years ago also no. Town was too small just 5 stoplights and 4 crossings. Now currently I don't really leave the house. So no on that too
I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me-
I could probably count the number of car accidents I've passed by over the last decade on a single hand. Is it super common in the states?

I used to maybe like once every couple of months when I used to take the freeway every day. But that was years ago. The only wreck I've seen in a long time was one I didn't drive past because I was in it, lol.

Nope. Can't remember the last one I saw, tbh.
Many Bothans died to bring you this post.
Not so much in the morning since I start so early. On the way back yes.

I've only had to bypass two accidents in the 10.5 years I've been at my job. (First I had to turn around and back track and take the long way around to get home because the intersection on my normal route was blocked, and the second was just the other day at another intersection closer to home. I had to turn onto a side street and then cut across the Publix parking lot to get around the accident).

I live in the middle of farmland in the Midwest. Seriously outside the major cities its mostly farmland and a fairly lonely highway.

Hell there are times I drive to work and dont even pass a car, let alone an accident. Usually the only accidents you see are cars hitting deer on the road. That happens semi frequently.

And my rides home at 2200? By that time most people in my area are at home and in bed. I rarely see a car on the road.

I'd be shocked if they weren't more common here than wherever you are, simply because we don't have any alternative transportation options.

Walking is out in account of distance.
Bicycles are only marginally better for distance, and otherwise out for safety reasons.
Public transportation is virtually non-existent unless you just happen to live in the very heart of the city.

I remember seeing a semi truck tore up to the point of damn near being unrecognizable. I wonder wtf happened to turn a semi into a mess of twisted metal.

This Amazon trailer was probably trying to avoid a collision and ended up going over the Jersey barricades into the (oncoming) HOV lane.

Here in Huntsville, Alabama, EVERYONE wants to see what's in each other's trunks, judging by how much everyone tailgates.

Yep. I imagine it's the fun part about having a 50~ mile commute.

Always amazes me how people can get into accidents when everyone's driving the same fucking direction and, for about 10 miles of that commute, interstate traffic is at a steady 35-40 mph. Fucking wild.
Party leader, passive-aggressive doormat, pasta eater extraordinaire!
I never drove to work on a busy freeway where people drive like bats out of hell so no.
This is where cool people write stuff.
why do people think they can constantly swerve inbetween lanes without anything bad happening?

I've seen people overtake multiple cars just to exit right when they could have easily just stayed on their lane and change lane once. They didn't have to change to the left two lanes then go 3 lanes right to exit right.

Because they gotta save those precious extra seconds and put everyone else's lives at risk to do it...

I don't usually drive on a highway/interstate, so accidents are generally rare. Even so the area isn't super densely populated so even on the highway/interstate traffic isn't heavy.

Max speed on normal roads around me is 45, maybe 55.
The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt.

Yeah I have a hour drive to work and initially I was a speed demon. If I had to change lanes to pass someone I would.

But I got nailed by a unmarked cop car so I don't do that anymore. Took me till the age of 35 to finally get a ticket so like a lot of things in my life I had my fun but nows it's done.

I find the streets in a city more dangerous than a highway. City streets are a lot more unpredictable due to bad infrastructure and people not knowing/respecting the right of way. and oh my god why are these kids riding their bikes outside of bike lanes and against traffic? why can't you just ride your bike on the crosswalk why ride inbetween cars that are stopped at an intersection?

You reminded me of a idiot I work with. He almost got into a wreck simply pulling out of the parking lot. He keeps saying he had right of way. You don't have right of way pulling put of a parking lot..... he goes on to say they musta been doing like 50 to 55 mph. And I stold him him yeah 55 is the Speed limit on that road

Long story short idiots walk amongst us

22 mile commute on I-40.

Wrecks - uncommon
There is a section of road that has two troopers assigned to it and they just pull truckers all day.
