I was against Disney buying Fox studios and I'm still against big companies buying each other out now. I have no idea how they were able to bypass the anti-trust laws.

The FTC fought the MS-ABK merger so hard that the judge had to remind them they weren't supposed to be on Sony's payroll...

That's how capitalism has to work the way it's practiced in the US. It's not that companies don't make a profit, it's that they can't grow past a certain point, and shareholders want growth year over year, not just profit. So the only way to get that growth is buying out other companies.

And the end game is Amazon owning the world.

They didn't. The FTC hasn't gotten remotely enough funding to enforce anti-trust laws for decades.
This will go through if they actually do buy, it's bs but I've long since accepted the fact that the US government doesn't actually give a shit about potential monopolies forming any more.

They can do a leveraged buyout, which never turns out badly at all.

Hey man, I only recently found out that I get Paramount Plus for free through my cable provider because I subscribe to Showtime. I'm currently trying to catch up on all the new Star Trek shows, and am curating my watch list.

If this sale goes through and that gets cancelled or revoked I'll... I'LL... be mildly annoyed.
