The first part of your statement is a big ol shrug to me, but I must say this is not actually the first time in the corner of the internet I've seen people doing this exact thing. They see "scary movie" along with the iconic killer and the human brain puts "scream" in it. So it isn't JUST these people but yeah it is confusing.

Second point, think they want to just reboot it since there's been a bunch more horror flicks out.
