So why is this show so damn good? You'd think it would be as trashcan with its writing and characters as anything else Bethesda touches.

They clearly have a fan made patch.
It's not perfect. Fallout 1 and 2 have been presumably retconned, as well as a big piece of Fallout New Vegas for sure.

Nope. Every thing in the games is still canon. They've even stated this themselves.

Supposedly, New Vegas wasn't retconned after all, the showrunners just accidentally flubbed the timeline. According to Todd Howard, Shady Sands got nuked shortly after the events of that game (which took place in 2281), not in 2277 (the year Fallout 3 happened) .

Or maybe you were talking about how Mr. House and Frederick Sinclair, from the main game and Dead Money , respectively, were in on Vault-Tec's plot to nuke the world ? IIRC, House doesn't outright say he agrees with the plan, so he might actually have been against it, and this might actually be a canon explanation for how exactly he knew the end was on the way and was able to make his preparations . On the other hand, Sinclair now comes off as a major piece of shit compared to how he was said to be in Dead Money .

Ok that is making sense.

Yeah, I saw people saying that it retconned some of the games and then the entire thing was based on the year being wrong in one scene.

Like that obviously isn't just some minor error they can retcon out.

Solution: The guy that wrote the date got it wrong or lied.

People who paid attention from the beginning knew new vegas wasnt retconned. It was obvious the nuke came after the fall of shady sands in 2277.

this isnt news, it is just kinda sad how mindless people are now, they legit need to be told the obvious from beth/ show runners.

there was no mistake made by the show, except for them thinking that the audience was smart enough to understand how time lines work.

I along with others who pay attention to the show have been saying this from the beginning.

im not sure shady sands was nuked in 2277. That very sketchy time line looks like it shows a falling of shady sands, and then the nuke. The nuke could actually happen after new vegas takes place.

Im not sure we should trust the vault 4 inhabitants time line just yet.

fo 1, 2 and new vegas are my favorite games in the series and I loved the show. Have you heard about the cancelled fallout 3 game? Nothing that happened in this show wasnt going to be explored in van buren. The ncr was supposed to fall, beth has been slowly incorporating stuff from van buren for a long time now.

those plot holes are things I noticed too, the show does make lucys dad seemingly look like an idiot. There is potentially hundreds of people cryogenically frozen so him not knowing everyone is plausible.

the robot cleaning up vault 32 needs an explanation, I was just talking to a friend about how none of that made any sense. As far as we know there are only 3 people from 31 who are active. One is on the surface, and I dont think the other two are capable of doing it alone.

dont listen to the nay sayers, the show didnt retcon new vegas, at the worst it added new stuff to the timeline.
Dinosaurs built the pyramids.
The show was not perfect though, there were couple episodes where the writing was on weaker side, i am gonna assume those episodes were written by bethesda and the rest by others.
This is a signature.
The show is great. I have no issues with it
Fact: Nintendo is the best, there is no point denying it.
