There are people with basic human empathy outside of the arts, writing, and programming fields.

Fandom is one of the biggest parasites the Internet has ever seen. AI art can at least be theoretically used in an ethical way.

AI art is bad but I have yet to see any tangible negative effects on artistic commerce as a result of it. It's being used in shitty cash grab shovelware and NFT scams but those are not legitimate businesses.

I feel I should clarify that I'm a digital artist who for the past year or so has grappled nearly daily with the existential crisis of AI-generated content, and my post was bitter sarcasm; not so much borne from fear of losing my job / livelihood that I've spent the majority of my life building towards, but despair over how so many people (not everyone, of course) can be so oblivious / apathetic to the use of technology borne on the back of stolen artwork for the very purpose of making said artists obsolete.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.

Persona 3 didn't hire an artist for their remake and instead used AI remastering, to name an east case where a human lost out on being paid in favor of AI.
