If you want to check out an event story, watch Overzone. It's a prequel event that gives context to some of the more important characters in the story. You won't have context to who these characters are now, but it's pretty straightforward.

And, yeah, there were basic characters I probably couldn't post even before the hornyposting rules change...

Only thing I know about that game was that controversy where some chinese dudes was mad the devs added a dude commander to the game and they thought said commander man was cuckin' em' of their waifus.....something like that.
