The right person must be a Republican.

So it's just Trump's attitude echoed in the party as a whole.

The Republican party is completely and totally unprincipled, and exists exclusively as a way for its donor class to illegitimately rule as much of the country as they can, using endless propaganda to keep their base (and some morons in the middle) voting for this crap.

Jurors have to argue with each other until they get a unanimous verdict.

Though there's some places in America where you only need 11. Called something like The Obstructive Naysayer rule.

No. Has to be unanimous. Which is going to be thing that lets Trump get off on all his criminal charges. It only takes 1 chud to hang a jury.

If a Trumpist juror causes a mistrial, we get to do the trial all over again with a new jury. For this case, that's perhaps an even better outcome than any reasonably likely sentence after the richly deserved guilty verdict.
