I voted for Clinton in 2016 but saw some humor in him winning.

In 2020 I felt like it had been a total waste of four years and was looking forward to Biden replacing him

Jan 6th happened and I basically lost all respect for the GOP

Now its just really surprising to me so many people genuinely want him to be president again. I get Biden isnt sexy but he is competent enough.

I guess I went from lol to this is stupid to are you fucking kidding me?? In the span of a few years

I've hated him since 2006 when my friends got conned into his landline telephone pyramid scheme.

I honestly dont understand how they are even allowed to run for president at this point.

Shitty excuse for a human being even discounting the post 2015 insanity.
Party leader, passive-aggressive doormat, pasta eater extraordinaire!
I hated him from the moment he ran for office. I remember watching clips of the apprentice in high school and thinking Trump was mostly just a bully. Knew in my bones that he was awful for the country.

Lo and behold, I was clearly correct.

I wanted to give him a chance in 2016 (Not that I voted for him, mind). The biggest issue with turmpy boy is that he isn't a politician. He has zero political experience (still doesn't if you ask me), and a lot of people were on board with that for some reason. Said people didn't seem to understand the ramifications of that, since all of his 'policies' were just disastrous nonsense attempting to undue all of the good of the previous administration.

The job of a politician is to represent the people and their best interests. Turmpy boy will not do that. Not then and certainly not now. He's even said it himself, he's out to use the office to punish anyone who has slighted him, and I cannot for the life of me fathom why anyone with two functioning brain cells thinks that this is ok and wants him back in office.
Shut your BF28/9 sound hole and listen up.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Strike three.
Disgusting, horrible human being who has caused untold harm to millions of people and immense damage to democracy the world over.

But I kinda resent how many people are blaming all of this on Trump solely and not accepting that he is a sympton of society. The problem is the 70+ million adults who openly support him and the 40 million who worship him.

There is a sick narcissism, lack of empathy and hatred in the US and the world that is being coddled and defended. People get mad at the figureheads like Trump or Musk or Tate or Thomas. But then refuse to accept those dudes didn't pop into power overnight in a vacuum. They did so with incredible support from an entire cult that's growing.

Trump could die tomorrow and someone worse will just take his place, doing the same thing
^ Hey now that's completely unfair!

I don't know that Trump has a single redeeming quality, he's pretty much a universally awful human being - and somehow, even beyond that, is just even more stupid and incompetent. It's mindblowing to me that he was ever able to run for President and not just get laughed out of the room.

When our parents told us "you can be anything you want to be when you grow up, even the president!"

They weren't kidding.

Literally anyone can be president, provided you're rich and play into their fears, and such.

Terrible president. The way he turned rejection of vaccines into a shibboleth for a large portion of the right is something that's still doing a lot of harm. That's on top of a lot of other bad things he did like giving a huge tax break to the rich and corporations.

My Republican brother feels the same way. He says they have no chance of winning so as long as hes their guy and the sooner he dies the sooner the GOP can become a real party again.
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.
Indifferent, but I'll be voting for him again if it comes down to it. If he wins, awesome. If not, then oh well.

People vote for the candidate they relate to
I liked Trump as a president as the economy was doing great. I voted for this second term, but he ran his mouth too much to win the second term.
After seeing the country fall apart under Biden, I would love to vote for Trump again, but I have friends in Ukraine, and I remain unsure as to how well he handle this foreign nightmare. So I might vote for Biden, even though Trump is winning this election.

I was out of the country back in 2015 when someone told me that Trump was running for president and had a serious chance of winning. My words to the person who told me that were, "when Trump's tax returns come out, he'll be out of the race immediately." I definitely did not take it seriously. Surely the country wouldn't elect the posterboy for the stereotypical slimy 80s grifter.

He's so obviously a self-interested con-man. It speaks volumes about the state of the american public that we're unable to identify bad actors as transparent as Trump. We have an alarming lack of media literacy and critical thinking, and Trump's political success is a reflection of that.

I agree, but I expect that not very much would improve if his voter base and donors didn't also go down with him. Otherwise, they'll just latch onto the next Trump-like candidate they could get, and until they do, they'd still help the now-Trumpless GOP continue to drag us kicking and screaming into a Christofascist dystopia.

That's by design. People at the top of the pyramid profit more and easier by having this dichotomy of two bad options; both serve the ruling class' interests. It's just that one option is openly fascist while the other pretends to care about the masses.

He LITERALLY tried to overthrow Democracy itself.

I do not understand how hes not in jail for treason, I do not understand how millions of Republicans can support him.

A vote for Trump is a vote for the destruction of America there is no counter argument.

He's a traitor.
His values are antithetical to what this country was founded on.
He has caused an incalculable amount of damage to society at a global level.

I don't like him but he's pretty funny at times.
I think he's a scam artist and a businessman with zero scruples.
I also don't think he has any actual belief system, he adopts and uses whatever he feels will get him ahead. His entire life is about power and being in charge which is a dangerous mentality for someone like him to have.

when i first heard that the host of The Apprentice was going to be running for President, i laughed. that would surely never happen, i thought. and them when he was actually handed the election by the electoral college despite not getting the popular vote, i viewed it as just as much of a miscarriage of justice and mockery of our political system as when Dubya was handed victory by the EC despite the popular vote as well.

but i never thought Trump would actually be capable of doing any tangible harm while in office. i thought he would just bumble about and be ineffectual and blustery, and then in four years we would get back on track.

and then i saw what he was doing. taking the US out of the Paris Climate Accords. taking us out of trade agreements and alienating all of our traditional global allies. rolling back environmental protections and workers' rights. posting classified US spy satellite footage on his social media accounts. fucking what? I slowly realized that he was not anywhere near as ineffectual as i thought he would be.

and as re-election started looming near and i saw how much his ego had been inflated from his stint in office, i also realized that if he lost, his ego would prevent him from conceding and peacefully transferring power to his successor. i called it months in advance. he would be willing to do ANYTHING in order to stay in office and maintain power for himself. and then January 6th happened and i was proven right. and from then on i knew he was nothing but a traitor, an agitator in the pockets of hostile foreign governments, and then with the whole fiasco with the classified documents, very likely the most dire threat to national security that we have faced in our lifetime.
It don't matter. None of this matters.
