Do you like these 'Zero' drinks?

My first experience with Coke Zero left me sick to my stomach and hunched over for a 20 minute car ride <_<

I drank it after that and didn't have that negative of an experience again.

I don't really care for either Zero or Diet drinks.
The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt.
Only kind of soda I drink.

Nah, they taste bad
I very rarely drink soda nowadays, but when I do I just go for the full thing.

No, I rarely even drink soda anymore or gave it up unless its the only option

Only time I'll drink soda is when I take a sip of my gf's drink to wet my throat. Otherwise, 90% of what I drink is water and the other 9% is occasionally juice when I'm too lazy to get water.

Diets are usually made with aspartame, while zeros is made with a different chemical I forget the name of. It's some type of potassium iirc.

Diets sodas are basically out-of-date tech. When they went on the market they tried to get as close to the taste of sugar sodas as they could, but they were still fairly limited. Diet Coke taste distinctly different than Coca-Cola.

The ability to replicate regular soda tastes with zero calories has gotten a lot better in modern times. But as I mentioned above, Diet Coke has a distinct taste that has developed its own loyal fans. So even though Coke has made a diet Coke that taste much closer to Coca-Cola, they just can't replace Diet Coke with it. So you get an entirely new line of diet sodas with the Zero label instead.

There is also an added benefit in marketability. Diet sodas were heavily marketed to women back in the day, so much so that they picked up a stigma of being an effeminate drink that still persists even after marketing went more gender neutral. The Zero line gave a more masculine diet soda option with none of the diet baggage. Heck Pepsi arguably leaned in too hard with diet soda for dudes with Pepsi Max, which later got rebranded as Pepsi Zero Sugar when that became the favored industry term.

no. i don't really drink soda at all anymore these days, but if i did, it wouldn't be the kind with zero calorie sweeteners. for one thing, every zero calorie sugar substitute i've ever tried just tastes weird or bad. but more importantly, they are not any healthier for you than sugar, and in some cases they are even worse. we didn't know this for a long time because there wasn't any adequate longterm studies, but just in recent years study after study have been coming out that have demonstrated that they aren't a healthier alternative like they had been claimed to be. and also that they don't even have any correlation to sustained weight loss over time.
It don't matter. None of this matters.

Its not weight loss. Its preventing the weight gain

Sometimes, yeah. They're the closest in taste to the regular soda, without the sugar. And sometimes I want the taste of a Coke without the extra 2-300 calories it would add to my meal.

it doesn't prevent weight gain in the long-term. that's what the studies show. non nutritive sweeteners are associated with higher body weight and metabolic abnormalities.

Zero sugar, zero worth.
Take me down from the ridge where the summer ends
And watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame
I basically live off of Coke Zero.
The only diet soda I drink is Diet Pepsi.

Soda is my one true vice-I cannot get enough of the stuff. But I have been trying to keep my blood sugar down, so for a couple years I have only had the Zero versions.

Now I am thinking of stopping even those, because I have read a lot about how the sugar substitutes are just as bad or worse for you long term. I would have a dreadful time kicking this habit, but I might try.

Coke Zero used to be my favorite, but they changed the formula and now I hate it. Pepsi Zero is good. Mountain Dew Zero tastes exactly like regular Mountain Dew, which I enjoy.
An opinion does not turn into a fact simply because the person holding it feels strongly about it.
