See I wouldn't because for example if you took the Japanese characters for Dugtrio and translated it literally into English letters it would be "Dugtrio." However if you then translate "Dugtrio" back into the Japanese version of those letters it becomes Dagutrio or whatever, but that feels like too many steps for me. If the literal romanization of the characters is "Dugtrio," that counts for me. The only reason Pikachu is different is that the "translate back" doesn't change since those letters are pretty one for one, whereas Dugtrio changes because that one for one straight up doesn't actually exist.
