Even more insane, Ed O'Neill is in it as a completely dead ass serious drama character!

Boiling Point is currently my highest ranked film of the 2020s. Very underwatched. The entire film being a single shot makes it incredibly immersive, and more effective at being stresssful.

Run Lola Run (Lola Rennt original German title). Don't know how I would describe it, but its a movie I love and the soundtrack is banging.
The ball is round, the game lasts 90 minutes. That's fact.
Everything else, is theory.
I've never seen any of those.

have you seen Bridge of Spies?

that's the only recent movie I've watched that I felt had nothing wrong with it, so it's as close to a 10/10 as I'd give.

Russia Ark and Children of Men suck. Rope is excellent. It just depends if the film utilizes it in a meaningful way.

In the case of Boiling Point, it allows the movie's stress to simmer. And with your love of Uncut Gems (and I'm assuming Good Time as well), films that excel at making the viewer stressed, you'd probabaly dig it.

nah i just fundamentally disagree with not using editing, which is one of two things that makes cinema cinema

just a dumb thing to do imo

It's a deconstruction, in a way. Instead of editing, you are using cinematography in more creative ways, totally separating it from being just a play. Removing editing might feel like you are regressing back to the 1900s and 1910s, but when done correctly, can elevate the movie. Filmmakers are always finding new ways to reinvent older methods, which makes it a living medium.

i mean if you have edits that allows you to do more creative things by cutting to a new shot with different blocking and lighting and stuff. also lets you use inserts to get better takes from a performance level. and cut to closeups for maximum dramatic impact. and lots of other stuff probably that you can't do when everything is just one shot.
