How prevalent are laser weapons in a non experimental context, will this be a first for actual deployment to a warzone?

Russia's military death toll in Ukraine has now passed the 50,000 mark - the BBC can confirm.
In the second 12 months on the front line - as Moscow pushed its so-called meat grinder strategy - we found the body count was nearly 25% higher than in the first year.

WTF?
Like... how dare he post his videos for multiple languages?

My god, it just feels like the past few weeks/months have been an unrelenting god damned barrage on our internet rights and norms, with shit continuing to get worse.

at this point putin has basically just signaled that he will stay entrenched in ukraine to save face. he has basically no chance of actually toppling the ukrainian government and is just throwing tens of thousands of russian lives away to maintain his poorly crafted and crumbling facade.
the west has to keep sending aid to ukraine. russia continuing to fail and languish is not only a moral and ideological victory, it is a strategic coup that gives us more influence in eastern europe than the west has ever had. helping ukraine is the right thing to do but it is also the strategically sound answer as well. we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by continuing to help ukraine defend its sovereignty
2 Russian spies planned to sabotage Ukraine shipments in Germany. They are so fucked
They got captured.
The US exploited divisions in Ukraine to start a civil war with the purpose of luring Russia to intervene in the conflict
i'm sure you don't mean it in this way, but that sounds a bit to close to Putins own propaganda for comfortI don't know how it could not mean it that way. It sounds exactly like the Russia propaganda. Blaming the US for the Ukrainian people wanting a change in some attempt to pull Russia into a war?
Isn't the US still maintaining the war in Ukraine to save face as well? I mean the US has already said that it shut down the Istanbul peace deal and maintains the war in Ukraine in order to look tough to China because of long term strategic concerns over Taiwan. So I disagree about the US having nothing to lose. The US isn't "maintaining" the war.
But I agree with everything else you said. The US exploited divisions in Ukraine to start a civil war with the purpose of luring Russia to intervene in the conflict and keeping them bogged down in a costly unwinnable war that would drain their resources and pressure the Russian economy and cause tensions for the Russian regime. The US didn't start a civil war. Russia tried meddling in and controlling their government and they resisted it. This is just pure lies and propaganda.
The plan is working perfectly so far. The ultimate goal is the collapse of the Russian state. Similar to the way Afghanistan was used to collapse the Soviet Union.
Stavropol is pretty far into Russian territory, so i'm not sure how they would manage to shoot it down thereI'd think it would have to be a hell of a malfunction to produce that much flame.
Malfunction sounds a wee bit more plausible
Or maybe friendly fire
I'd think it would have to be a hell of a malfunction to produce that much flame.
what could hit a moving airplane 300 kilometers behind the border?a drone a missle anything
(the border. not 300 from the frontline)
They didn't shut down peace deals, Ukraine itself doesn't want a hollow peace deal that gives Russia a chance to rebuild and then attack again, since Russia breaks every peace deal when it's convenient for them and the only way to actually have peace is to defeat them decisively militarily.
former Secretary of Defense and CIA Director Robert Gates says in his recently published memoir: When the Soviet Union was collapsing in late 1991, [Defense Secretary Dick Cheney] wanted to see the dismemberment not only of the Soviet Union and the Russian empire but of Russia itself, so it could never again be a threat to the rest of the world.
A thoroughly broken Russia can only mean good things for the world in general.
The choice that we faced in Ukraine and I'm using the past tense there intentionally was whether Russia exercised a veto over NATO involvement in Ukraine on the negotiating table or on the battlefield, said George Beebe, a former director of Russia analysis at the CIA and special adviser on Russia to former Vice President Dick Cheney. And we elected to make sure that the veto was exercised on the battlefield, hoping that either Putin would stay his hand or that the military operation would fail.
cutting off their energy exports to collapse their economy,...about that...
