Ahead of its time with the co-op stuff. They got ballsy, then the game got rushed. It had a bit of development hell behind it.

It has some annoying mechanics, but I think it's enjoyable still.
Favorite Games: BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Bayonetta, Bloodborne

It would have helped if it at least had creative enemies and/or a good story, but it really failed on those fronts.

Nice graphics though.

What annoys me is the Switch version contains several bugs that Capcom never patched. And RE0 is the one included on the card, while the RE1 remake is a download voucher.

I never really got all the hate. I also liked RE3 back in the day though and that got hate for being more action oriented with a dodge button.
Trying is the first step towards failure, so just dont give it a shot and you cant dissapoint.

its just bleh, the worst classic style RE game by a mile...

It really is bad. The inventory and partner system turn me off almost completely. The annoying enemies and boring locations didn't help either.

This. Only truly awful part of the game was the hookshot. The inventory system doesnt bother me as much anymore since you dont actually need a lot of what you can pick up anyway.

I liked it back then. Was a solid 8, but played it recently and its flaws were much MUCH more noticeable. Like how getting rid of the magic boxes made for a worse experience where you sometimes had to make a few trips to bring all of your items to the new area. They shouldve just added the drop mechanic while retaining the boxes.

Also some of the most annoying enemies ever in a RE game like the damn tiny monkeys and the leech men who were bullet sponges and exploded after you killed them which took quite a bit of your health unless you were far away.

All else was mostly fine.

RE0 is literally the only good mainline Resident Evil beside the original 1996 game and one of the select few games worth getting for GameCube
Kill the legs first, that's an ironclad battle tactic!
