How many Pull-Ups can you do in a Row?

You're likely using your forearms too much. I suppose you could do pullups with a band to help work up to it. That's how I started, also having elbow issues. Also could have to do with your grip.

I still can't do many pullups (like only 4 or 5 before my arms totally take over) because of shoulder mobility so that's what I'm working around.

Also a huge part of pullups is core engagement and if you let yourself go limp at all you'll feel so much heavier.
Yeah, I am sure I am doing something wrong. I have been using the seated row machine at the gym because that works my back without hurting anything.
