I took my wife to see The Notebook in a theater a few months ago. There were like 30 women and all I could hear towards the sad part is constant sniffling around me.

It is a legitimately decent movie though. The author of the book has a specialty for sad romance.

if you like dogs Marley and Me kills me every single time. Grave of the Fireflies also gets me. that scene in Schindler's List where he laments not being able to save enough people is pretty sad too

Old Yeller (1957)
Where the Red Fern Grows (1974)

Dont let the ages fool you. Old Yeller is an absolute Disney classic. My dad sat me down when I was a very young child to watch this and its a great movie.

Where the Red Fern Grows is also very good. We read the book and then watched the movie in Elementary school. Not a dry eye in the room.

If youre an animal lover, especially dogs these two movies will make you cry.

I read Where The Red Fern Grows as a kid on my way back from a fishing trip with my dad. When I finished I put my head against the passenger side window while sobbing horribly. He asked Whats going on with you? and I remember wailing Nothing!
