It has to be music by Christians that happens to have Christian themes and lyrics to be good.

Actual worship music and shit is always terrible. It's like the people feel the music doesn't need to be good.

I've often wondered this.

There are a couple of PnW bangers but for the most part it's just not good at all.

Now, that's specifically PnW. There are a ton of great hymns, and the entire urban gospel genre is incred.

When U2 came out, people claimed they were Christian Rock. Now if Christian Rock rocked like U2, then maybe the genre wouldn't be so terrible, since U2 had music about love and liberty rather than Jesus.

POD was about the only Christian Rock band that didn't suck.

Early 2000s Further Seems Forever is pretty great - I didn't know it was Christian until like 5 years ago even though i listened to them heavily around the time of their first 2 albums.

They said "we're not a Christian band but we are Christians" but they were also on tooth and nail sooo

There's the occasional good one out there. Most of the decent ones though are quite subtle about the religious aspect. The only one to come to mind that's very blatantly religious *and* is good is "Heaven" by Live.
