They are in the same universe. We actually got the Darkwing origin story in the DuckTales reboot.
They arent? Launchpad has talked before about living in Duckberg and working for Scrooge McDuck. And I remember reading a Disney comic where Scrooge and Darkwing were in the same room.In terms of the original series, the creator of said that they exist in separate universes.
While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Stones explained that Darkwing Duck took place in its own separate universe. Because Launchpad appeared in DuckTales and we used [Gizmoduck] as the Superman character, the hero who gets all the glory as opposed to Darkwing, fans try to connect the two realities. They are two different universes in my book. We work in the alternate Duckiverse. Stones went on to cite the small differences in Launchpads depiction as proof of the different realities. For example, Darkwing Ducks Launchpad was a relatively competent pilot and sidekick, while his counterpart in DuckTales crashed planes more often than he landed them.
The reboot also uses some stories of the Dutch serialization, which is obviously the best Donald Duck series.

These were set after the cartoons, and they had a shared universe because they wanted that. One of the jokes was that Scrooge and Darkwing signed a contract about Launchpaf custody.
Nah. I think I was actually more bothered by TailSpin not being in the same universe as The Jungle Book. Maybe "confused" is the better term. What about Robin Hood?
They fly now?
The DuckTales reboot was legitimately so good. The voice cast was awesome.

There's a Darkwing Dutch?

Donald Duck is very popular in Dutch, they have weekly magazine that runs over 50 years. So yes, they did have some Darkwing Duck stories.
It's been a long time since watching as a kid, but what is the connection between Darkwing and Donald Duck? Both are Disney-owned ducks.
Yea, but also because it's not shared with the Mighty Ducks either:That was explicitly alien ducks in a human world, though/

Both are Disney-owned ducks.
According to Don Rosa's Duck Family Tree, Scrooge's paternal grandmother was named Molly Mallard, so many have a headcanon that Drake Mallard is a distant relative to Donald.
Got it, thought people were suggesting there was a real connection with Donald in Darkwing Duck (as if he appeared), but I suppose they're saying Donald is super popular, so Darkwing Duck is also super popular by loose extension. What I think he really meant was that Donald Duck is extremely popular in the Netherlands, and they have a weekly Donald Duck magazine that has been running for over 50 years.
My nostalgia brain does not remember Launchpad in Tailspin. He wasn't. I think it's a Mandela Effect because the character seems tailor-made to be on it. There's also a rumor that it was supposed to star Launchpad, but that's not confirmed.
According to kingdom hearts isn't every disney world in the same universe?Sure but until Sora starts beating all the bad guys in everything else, we can assume the KH versions are separate canons.
My nostalgia brain does not remember Launchpad in Tailspin. It's been so long since I've seen the show that my mind is playing tricks on me, but I do distinctly remember making the connection of Launchpad being in both Talespin and DuckTales.

In Sweden, we have a weekly Donald Duck magazine that has been running for 75 years, and even if it is a Donald Duck magazine, it is not exclusive to stories that involves him. It got stories with Scrooge, Mickey Mouse, and both Ducktales and Darkwing Duck when they were running on the telly. I assume that it is the same with the Dutch magazine.
And some episodes of the rebooted Ducktales show got inspired by some of the comics that had been featured in the Donald Duck magazine. Or was close enough, having a weekly magazine for 50 years means that you have had tons of stories and you will always be able to find something close enough. Like the Simpsons.
im surprised how Disney managed to reboot Ducktales but not Darkwing Duck. that shit used to slap also!
