So since i don't care about 4k, 60fps, or the new FF7 game, I'm fine just sticking with my PS4 then.Yeah, that's about where I'm at. If I bought a PS5 at this point it would literally only be for Final Fantasy 16 and 7 Rebirth, as none of the other (exclusive) games on it really interest me. It's just not worth the cost of entry to play two games, I can wait for the exclusivity period to run out and play them elsewhere.
the only upside to consoles is that they are cheaper. that's literally it. console gamers will say "oh but i can game from my couch, on my TV with a controller" which you can also do on PC. and when you tell them that, it's always IMMEDIATE shifting of goalposts. "lol who wants to have their PC hooked up to their TV?" or "oh but consoles are plug and play, so much simpler than PC" when that hasn't been true ever since consoles went online. now it's plug and download system update and install game data and download day one patch and play. or "oh PCs are so hard to maintain, consoles you don't have to worry about compatibility or anything going wrong" when PCs have much wider compatibility and are actually able to be troubleshooted and fixed when something goes wrong, whereas with consoles, if they fail you have to buy a whole new one.
plus, the functionality of consoles are extremely limited compared to PC. literally all a console is good for is gaming, whereas if you build a gaming PC, there is also so many more things you'll be able to do with it besides just gaming. console gamers never factor that into the cost-benefit analysis.
The PS5 isn't loud at all but Marth's the guy who had a meltdown over soda pop tops being too loud so his judgment there is suspect. He also recently had a melty over the price of video games being too high but he'll spend hundreds of dollars on figurines of anime girls to (I hope) do absolutely nothing with.
The PS5 isn't loud at all but Marth's the guy who had a meltdown over soda pop tops being too loud so his judgment there is suspect.Maybe do a little bit of reading and try to be a bit more understanding of what people suffer from
Not much of an upside if that's all
I don't put much thought into my PC build, and the enjoyment of optimizing it to be near silent even in demanding games is worth it.
What's wrong with you guys? Building a PC is as easy as putting together basic Lego LMAO
Maybe do a little bit of reading and try to be a bit more understanding of what people suffer from

I don't get why you feel the need to be so antagonistic
I just stated facts. You exaggerated and twisted what I said to make it an attack against me
You exaggerated and twisted what I said to make it an attack against me
Nope.Saying I had a meltdown is a massive exaggeration
Where's the OS? The sound card?My brother in Christ, you haven't needed 'sound cards' for quite some while.
Linux is free and the motherboard includes audio"Linux is only free if you don't value your time"
My brother in Christ, you haven't needed 'sound cards' for quite some while.Pshh and you guys call yourself PC Master Race
Pshh and you guys call yourself PC Master RaceI run a separate Atom Labs DAC/AMP Stack. It handles all my audio needs, no 'sound card' needed
My brother in Christ, you haven't needed 'sound cards' for quite some while.Yeah, if you're worried about audio you're buying a USB DAC/amp. No audiophile has used soundcards for years.
Where's the OS? The sound card?
A sound card in 2024? pffffttttttttThey gotta be trolling lmao
I know PC is better but the only thing that annoys me is when my PC Master Race friends go on about how consoles hold back gaming. Yeah if games were only on PC graphics etc would be at an overall higher level but not nearly as many games would be being made without the consumer base provided by consoles. Like others have pointed out in the topic, the vast majority of people will not bother with building a custom PC.It's also a complete and utter lie.
Linux is fine but really you need windows for gaming on PC unless you get lucky and the only games you care about just work. Theres plenty of games that just wont let you play online if youre on Linux or the DRM will ban you or some shit. Theres also the ecosystem around gaming which is developed for WindowsAccording to TC, games are bad and not worth playing if they dont run in Linux.
it isn't
Because you are already an enthusiast . You love this stuff. You know this stuff. You building a new PC requires little to no mental or emotional energy. The experience of it is actually enjoyable to you. Look at you, you literally put together a build on pc part picker just for the fun of it to have this discussion.
Do you understand that that is really not the case for almost the entire population of the earth? 98% of the people in my office switch off mentally before you could even get them to replace a stick of RAM, and I work in a software company.
If this is hard for you to understand, just imagine me trying to get you to do a hobby that you really don't enjoy at all.
Bro it's super easy to get in shape. I could have you deadlifting 400lbs in a year and it wouldn't even be that hard. Let's just go to the gym for 4 hours a week for the next year. You in?
8GB VRAM isn't a great idea if you want to future proof your PC for AAA games.
That's 200 bucks more than a PS5After a few years of PS+ it's hundreds less than a PS5 and can do so much more
8GB VRAM isn't a great idea if you want to future proof your PC for AAA games. Is 12GB VRAM good though? Because I'm kinda on the fence between a 4070 Super and a 7900 GRE.
After a few years of PS+ it's hundreds less than a PS5 and can do so much moreBut you don't have to buy PS+. I've literally never bought it once, or paid for PSN either. Never.
But you don't have to buy PS+And miss out on important features that PC has for free like cloud saves and being able to play online
Im playing Dragons Dogma and it aint getting a consistent 4k 60 on my 4080.
After a few years of PS+ it's hundreds less than a PS5 and can do so much moreYou can at least communicate with the PS 5...
DD2 is so horribly optimized that even people with high end PCs are killing NPCs to make the game run more smoothly. But I thought these things were automatically fixed with mods?
Lol, I would certainly hope that you can get a PC that cost 200 dollars more in 2024 that's better than a console that released in 2020.
This isn't nowhere near a flex you think it is
But I thought these things were automatically fixed with mods?
And miss out on important features that PC has for free like cloud saves and being able to play onlineI don't need cloud saves. At all. Not once have I ever wanted or needed that. And I don't play online. I don't want to do that. I like single player games. I game on PC too. I don't play online games here either. Nor do I use cloud saves here. I have no need for them. To add the price of something I don't want to the cost is asinine.
