Somebody That I Used To Know is a fucking garbage song. But you didnt have to cut me off
Beatles are ehhhhhh. I acknowledge and respect what they did for the industry, but their music is so whatever to me lol
Ah finally got my hot take
Gwen Stefani is an entertainer but is not a musician.
Depends on how you mean that.Never cared for No Doubt. I guess if you took away Garbage, Tori Amos, Liz Phair, PJ Harvey, The Cranberries, Bjork, Belly, Juliana Hatfield, The Breeders, and Natalie Merchant theyd be interesting.
No Doubt had some amazing music and they were a great musical act.
Gwen Stefani's solo work is that of an entertainer.

counterpoint: none of those artists did ska, which makes no doubt (at least their first two albums) pretty interestingI cant think of any genre I dislike more than third wave ska.
Im about to have an aneurysm. The posters in here who don't care about music are uncommon, but it's not unheard of. Plenty of people exist without consuming books or video games, and there are even people who don't watch TV or movies. Then think about things like theater where very few actively follow.

Then think about things like theater where very few actively follow.I pretty much stopped listening to music all the time somewhere in college, thats over ten years ago now. For me music is an activity that you do by itself, if you know what I mean, as in I absolutely hate background music since its distracting so I never use a radio or have music on while doing something else. Since I like doing other stuff a lot more than just listening to music I rarely end up listening at all. At most I will listen to stuff for half an hour every few weeks to a few months or so.
So I don't get why it's so bad people skip out on music.

I'm not a fan of bauhaus.I love Bauhaus, but I will say they're 10x as good live as an experience than they are on record. I've seen Love and Rockets too and going to see Tones on Tail in May.
My answers are U2 and the Smiths are fucking terrible garbage and I am a huge fan of 80s new wave and alternative stuff
Pop Punk & Emo are in a Renaissance and arguably better than they've ever been
I cant think of any genre I dislike more than third wave ska.
Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal is awful and I much prefer the original.Agreed
Huey Lewis and the News's early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humour. There is no good reason I havent picked up Sports.
Queen sounds (mostly) awful
Bohemian Rhapsody is probably the worst song of all time
Would say they're first two albums were much better than any of their mainstream stuff. Bohemian Rhapsody is way too incohesive.Queen kinda had the same problem Kiss did: they were much better (and much heavier) live. Both bands studio albums are overproduction in a "polishing the shine off" way.
If Tim Booth (singer from James and Manchester contemporary) had been the lead singer of The Smiths instead of Morrissey, they would have been one of the greatest bands in history.Man that would've ruled. James is fantastic
It wouldn't take too much of a timeline tweak to have made it happen.

grunge is not classic rock and should not be played on classic rock stationsWhat annoys me is when my alt rock station plays songs from the Black album.
Current music is forgettable/sucks
